Bodywork Services

Your body consists of multiple systems working together in an integrated manner, so why should your therapy only address the muscles, fascia, brain, or lymph? At Interwoven8, we listen to hear how you are experiencing your body and work with you to develop an integrated plan of care for your body that uses a wide range of techniques. We have listed below the types of services we offer for your information.

Body Wraps/Scrubs

Interwoven8 offers personalized treatments to replenish the body, soul and spirit to restore pep, vim and vigor. These treatments activate the “rest and digest” part of the nervous system, enhancing deep healing qualities of the body. We provide full body and “bliss” treatments.  Bliss treatments easily flow with other therapeutic sessions while full body applications are a journey unto themselves.

Salt/Sugar Scrubs: Take time to cleanse, revive and revitalize your skin with a luxuriously pampering salt/sugar scrub.

Clay: Purify your body with a clay wrap that removes toxins and leaves you feeling renewed. Certain clays offer deep healing for aching joints.

Seaweed: These gifts from the sea mimic amniotic fluid and offer rich nutrients for the body to replenish.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a holistic and multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing that has achieved remarkable results over the past 50 years. Bowen Therapy treats the whole body, and its holistic effects are apparent in patients who find resolution to problems above and beyond those for which they have sought treatment, for example lack of energy, stress or emotional issues. At Interwoven8, we have seen Bowen Therapy act like a “reset button” for the whole body, inviting all systems to harmonize.

Brain Gym®

Brain Gym® consists of simple exercises that connect the brain with the body to improve concentration, focus, memory and coordination. It also helps breakthrough barriers like learning challenges or unwanted habits. At Interwoven8, these exercises are offered as a stand-alone treatment session; combined with other therapies (most often therapeutic massage); or are offered as follow-up support.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. It is a subtle and profound technique that encourages deep physical and emotional healing. Many people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), learning disabilities and trauma have found it beneficial.

Grief Massage

Grief Massage is a signature technique that offers supportive care specific for times of loss, whether a loved one, job, or relationship. Treatment creates a compassionate place for acknowledgement, relief, absolution and acceptance.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) is a gentle technique that works through the body’s lymphatic system to activate the body fluid circulation and stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems. The result of these actions can include reductions in swelling, detoxification of the body, regeneration of tissue as well as many other benefits.  It can be useful as pre- and post- surgery treatments, as well as, illness and injury recovery.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This technique is commonly combined with NMT to improve body’s range-of-motion and ability to move.

Neurological Bodywork

Neurological Bodywork (CNB) pulls from functional neurology to address nerve pathway dysfunction and promote optimal brain-body connection. While all services are based in this awareness, specific work provides client with an assessment and treatments best suited for the brain. Helping the body help the brain help the body.

NeuroMuscular Therapy

NeuroMuscular Therapy (NMT) is the workhorse of bodywork. NMT releases muscles so nerve pathways signal well, decreasing pain and improving the body’s ability to get things done. NMT bridges the gap between Physical Therapy and complete recovery.

Somato-Emotional Release

Somato-Emotional (SER) release is a therapeutic procedure that uses the concepts of Cranio-Sacral therapy to free the body and mind of the discomforting side effects of trauma. Many times, the emotional symptoms that we experience during trauma remain unresolved as the body heals leading to physical pain that resists treatment. Survivors of accidents, abuse, and other traumas have found it useful alongside professional counseling treatments. Joint therapy sessions are available (professional counselor in room with client).

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a European technique appropriate for any age to calm stressed out bodies, as it increases the “rest and digest” response while decreasing the “fight or flight” response. It is an excellent choice for those with compromised health.

Thermal Stone Therapy

Described as a cup of cocoa for the body, this therapy applies stones of varying temperatures to aid the body in complete restorative relaxation. It is refreshing in the summer and reviving in the winter. It also can be helpful for those suffering from joint pain.
